Wildlife Sanctuary : |

Landlocked, it is one of the most naturally
blessed areas in Kerala. Exotic flora and fauna
abound. Over1965 flowering plants, 143 species
of orchids and the only south Indian conifer and
found here. 35 species of mammals including wild
elephant, gaur, sambhar deer, wild boar, Nilgiri
tahr, lion-tailed macaque, 265species of birds,
reptiles, amphibians and a host of other species
are also seen. Rolling hills, wooded deals are
all garlanded by rivers. A large population of
tribals inhabit here Idukki’s more attraction
include visit to wildlife sanctuaries and hill
stations, spice Plantation tours, mountain treks
and elephant rides. |
